Tournaments

Rules and Regulations

All players on GamePoint can organize tournaments. Official GamePoint Tournaments organized by our Tournament Directors have priority. Popular games have special tournament rooms for TD’s and Players. Keep to the players tournament rooms if you do not wish to have to change a room when a official tournament is starting.

Tournament Types

When creating a tournament you can choose between two tournament types:

Knock-out

A simple tournament that follows the lose you’re out rule. Winner advances to the next round. Tournament ends when only one player is left.

Poule

A much more custom tournament option. Multiple games are played – players with the highest amount of points advance to the next round. How many poules and round there are depends on the settings and amount of players that are in the tournament.

Starting the tournament
Make sure to promote your tournament before hand. Come online an half hour before the start of the tournament and promote/remind players of the tournament. Check if the players are online and get them to wait with you in the room 15 minutes before the start of the tournament. Remove and add players if necessary. Mix the playing schedule: mark user and select shuffle. Remind players of the tournament rules.

During the tournament
Be involved in chat, answer questions and snoop in different games. Enter scores on the tournament page and update regularly. Announce upcoming matches in chat.

After the tournament
Announce and congratulate the winner(s) and thank other players
