Privacy Policy

As a company, GamePoint BV (GP, we or us) recognizes the importance of protecting certain information collected from users. Therefore, GP has adopted a company wide privacy policy that guides how we will ensure that the privacy of our online visitors and players is respected.

Do not disclose your password
Please note that the use of, or access to, some of our online services will require you to provide us with personal information, which may include (without limitation) your name, home address, phone number, credit card number, and/or e-mail address (collectively referred to herein as personal information). This Privacy Policy details how we safeguard the privacy of our online visitors and does not apply to information that may be collected by GP offline. Whenever you voluntarily disclose any personal information through the use of our on-line services, this Privacy Policy does not apply to you anymore with regard to the disclosed information. This means you are solely responsible for maintaining the secrecy of any account ID or password you use to register, and you should always be careful and responsible whenever disclosing information online.. Understand that GP employees will never request your password.  

Online Chat Rooms and Profiles
You may choose to disclose information, including personal information, about yourself in our online chat rooms, message boards, user profiles for public view or in similar forums on our sites(Public places). Information that you disclose in any of these Public places is public information and there is no expectation of privacy or confidentiality there. You should be aware that any personally identifiable information you submit there can be read, collected, or used by other users of these Public places, and could be used to send you unsolicited messages. GP is not responsible for the personally identifiable information you choose to submit in these Public places. Please see our Terms of Service on this point and for other guidelines about posting content on our web sites.  

Gather data
By accepting this Privacy Policy you agree that GP is eligible to use any personal information to improve its online services, for internal marketing studies, or simply to collect demographic information about its users. GP will not share personal information with any third-party unless the user agrees to such disclosure in advance. In such event, such partners will be prohibited from disclosing such information or using such information except for the limited purposes for which such users agree to share such information. 

Third party websites
Furthermore, third-party web sites and companies with links to and from our online services may collect personally identifiable information about users. You should be aware that these third-party web sites or links may have their own information collection practices and privacy policies. We do not control the privacy policies of third parties that have online services linked to our online services. If you click on a third-party advertisement or link, the privacy policies of the third-party web site that you link to will govern the use of your information by that web sites operator. This Privacy Policy does not extend to these external online services and companies. Please refer directly to these companies and online services regarding their privacy policies. We assume no responsibility or liability for the actions of such third parties with respect to their use of your information or otherwise. Accordingly, please make sure you are aware of and comfortable with the privacy policies of any third-party online services to which you follow a link.  

Violation and rights
We reserve the right to disclose your personal information as required by law or in special cases when we have reason to believe that disclosing such information is necessary to identify, contact, or bring legal action against you if you are violating the Terms of Service or Code of Conduct for a GP on-line service or product, or may be causing injury to or interference (intentionally or unintentionally) with our rights or property, other users of a GP on-line service or product, or anyone else who could be harmed by your activities.

Transfer of rights
As with any business, your personal information is also an asset of GP and will become part of our normal business records. As such, we may also disclose your personal information to a third party if we decide to sell a line of business to that third party, so you can continue to receive service and information in connection with that line of business with as little disruption as possible. Similarly, in the event of a merger, acquisition, reorganization, bankruptcy, or other similar event, your personal information may be transferred to GP's successor or assign.  

Provide third parties with userdata
GP may occasionally hire other companies to provide limited services on our behalf, including packaging, mailing and delivering purchases, answering customer questions about products or services, sending postal mail, providing billing and collection services, and processing event registration. We will only provide these companies the information reasonably required to perform the service, and they will be prohibited from using that information for any other purpose.

Update account information
You can correct or update your account information at any time by logging on our site and navigating to My Account. Should you be unable to log in contact the Support Helpdesk. To request removal of your information, please send us a written request (GamePoint International Administration, Postal Box 18552, 2502 EN, The Hague) and be sure to include in your message the same user name, password and email address that you submitted to us when registering. We may still retain your information in our files however, to resolve disputes, enforce our user agreement, and due to technical and legal requirements and constraints related to the security, integrity and operation of our websites.

Cookies
Cookies are a feature of your Web browser that allows Web sites to transfer bits of information to your computer for record-keeping purposes. A cookie stored on your computer can be used to "remember" things like your password, or that you have already registered. This allows us to speed up your future activities, saving the time you would normally spend entering information such as your password or registration. In addition, GP may use cookies to retrieve user information for promotional, marketing, or security purposes.

IP Address
An Internet protocol ("IP") address is the unique number assigned to your server or Internet Service Provider ("ISP"). GP may track such IP addresses for system administration, to report aggregate information, site tracking, or to prevent our servers from being abused.

Liabilities and responsibilities
Although we will use reasonable efforts to safeguard the privacy of your information, transmissions on the Internet cannot be made absolutely secure. Accordingly, we assume no responsibility or liability for disclosure of any of your information due to errors in transmission, unauthorized third-party access or other causes beyond our reasonable control.

Privacy and online job applications
This privacy policy does not apply to online job applications. However we ensure you that we will be handling any information from your resume with care. Such information will only be used for the purpose of accepting and evaluating your submission for a job with GP.

Privacy law compliance
For all players, as used herein, terms such as personal information refer to personal data as defined by the Directive 95/46/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 24 October 1995.

Policy version and most current version
This policy is current as of its last revision date indicated above. However, please note that this policy may be amended from time to time to reflect changes and additions to the Privacy Policy. Please check back for the most current version before relying on any of the provisions in this Privacy Policy. Your continued use of the GP products and online sites will constitute your acceptance of any and all changes made to the Privacy Policy.

 

Cookies of GamePoint
Every visitor of a website has to deal with cookies. Cookies contain preferences you chose while surfing the web. Using a cookie means you will not have to login again every time you visit GamePoint, since the cookie will remember you previously stated to always want to stay logged on, including on a next visit.

To make your visit as pleasant as possible, GamePoint is placing cookies on the following components of the website; Autologin, new/returning user, remember password, registration partner, session, time zone.

 

Cookie functions
GamePoint also uses cookies to keep track of how many visitors the website has and which browsers are used. This information will be collected and used to improve and optimize the website and the full GamePoint experience.

Next to this, cookies are also used to analyze your interests, so advertisers can offer relevant advertisements on a website. These cookies at the same time make sure you do not continue to see the same advertisement over and over again.

Lastly, a cookie can be used to enable logging on to GamePoint through third parties. This includes logging on through Facebook, Twitter, MSN and Google. Should you decide to turn off the use of cookies, you will be required to fill in all your preferences again every time you visit GamePoint, which includes your username and password. These will not be remembered when you turn the cookies off.

Cookies are harmless and have been used a long while on practically every website in the world. A cookie does not know who you are and its sole purpose is to remember your preferences and interests based on your surfing behavior. Cookies are not able to infect computers with viruses. All cookies can be removed at any given time through the settings of the web browser.

Last but not least, GamePoint practices the utmost carefulness surrounding the securing of your personal details from getting lost or any form of unlawful processing. Users can remove themselves from GamePoint’s database by cancelling their subscription or registration (see elsewhere in this document).

Usernames can be removed through the personal menu. Every username can be removed this way.
